Video of Student Killed by Gunfire

Nico Pitney, who's live blogging all of the latest developments in Iran over at the Huffington Post, found this video earlier today. It shows a young Iranian student who has been shot (allegedly by the Basij forces) during a protest. Loud shouts can be heard in the background as other protestors pick up his body and drag him to inside to a covered area.

It's not clear when this video was shot, though it was uploaded to YouTube today. Please use discretion before viewing this video as it contains graphic images.

Nevertheless, these are our brothers and sister, our fathers and mothers. Why do you treat them in this manner?

Inha keh baradaran va khaharan, pedaran va madarane ma hastand. Pas chera beh inha zolm mikonid?

Is power at this cost worth it? remember that its people that lend you power, not power that gets you people.

Iranian police, how can you do that to your own people??? Shame on you, you don't deserve to live..

This has nothing to do with Islam or any other religion. This has to do with men seeking power at any cost, even the lives of the people they are supposed to represent.

This is to the utter shame of the cowardly bullies they use to enforce their power and to thse that command them

The UK and USA should mobalize and prepare to take out all goverments who treat their people like this across the globe. (eg.N.Korea)

The UK and The USA can't go around "policing" the world. We had a revolution, and it was ugly, but good ulimatly came of it and justice reined in the form of a free nation. The free nations of the world should act as examples, not a militant force that bullies others into their beliefs. Then they would be no better than those that they fight against. The world should be proud that this generation has the courage to fight for our childrens freedom, even at the cost of blood.

I disdain the ones that call themselves human beings and yet commit crimes against humanity like this. We are the species on the planet with the greatest intelectual capacity to change; we've created machines, medicines, and elements of nature . . . we are better than this.

es muy triste ver para donde llevamos al mundo en todos los paises vemos atrozidades. evidentemente es la consecuencia del reinado del mal. es hora que el mundo se vuelque a Dios

God bless the souls of the deceased who died and let us hope their sacrafice is not in vain. (which ever god you may belive in may he show mercy to these poor people)

To Iranian people. The UK and The USA can't help. You must help yourself. All of you must work hand in hand. No one can help your country but you people of Iran. God bless you. The world is in your side. Arginahid is greedy bastard. he must die first not that innocent young civilian.

Change is always difficult. As a healer, I deal with this kind of destruction on personal levels with clients with brain cancer, emotional dis-ease, repressed anger. ALL OF THE DIS-EASE within all of us is surfacing both individually and collectively. It is extraordinarily difficult but absolutely necessary for the old patriarchal regimes to end, and the Goddess to rise once again. And one of the greatest Goddess Cultures on Earth is in Iran and she is demanding to be free within all of us because she is deep in the core of our feelings and our love. I send great prayer to the people of Iran. A US citizen
