Toronto G20 Demonstrators Forced to Show ID or Face Arrest

Toronto G20 demonstrators confronted police when asked to show identification today during continuing protests during the global economic summit. In advance of the event, the city designated the location of the meeting a temporary "public work" area expanding law enforcement's right to search and arrest anyone who comes within five meters of the protected zone and refuses to self-identify according to a report by The Globe and Mail.

Those convicted under the law can face up to two months in jail and a $500 fine, reports The Toronto Star.

Some onlookers from sky-scrapers captured marching in the streets from above:

To Brian Law with Press for Truth:

Your coverage of the G20 and arrest was intelligent, objective, and informative. I fully support your efforts and hope your father will hook you up with pro bono legal counsel who will launch a Charter challenge against the injustice that you and others in Toronto have experienced this week! Keep up the great reporting!

Injustice? Perhaps you could spell out what this injustice is exactly? I see some self-absorbed, self-important and self-regarding fellow travellers who refused to cooperate with police and were arrested.
