UK PSA on the dangers of texting while driving

News networks have been buzzing about this graphic public service announcement -- currently being shown in the UK -- about the dangers of texting while driving. Aimed at teen drivers, this disturbing and graphic video shows what happens when a young girl loses her focus behind the wheel while text messaging a friend and a multi-car crash ensues.

News anchors have been playing the video on air, asking viewers to chime in on whether a PSA of this nature should be broadcast widely on national TV in the U.S. What do you think?

Warning - this PSA may be difficult to watch.

This should be a required watch for every person getting or renewing their driver license.

They could have cut the time in half and delivered the same impact. That said, it's a must watch, period.

I recall some research showing that when a very drastic accident outcome is shown, ironically it's not as effective as a less serious outcome. People don't think anything that terrible will happen to them. The research would suggest this video would be more beneficial if less tragic.

Better 3:55 minutes spent watching the video than six funerals....

As a mother and grandmother I strongly believe this should be required for middle school and High School students to view.
Younger children need to know that anyone texting while driving is unsafe to ride with.
