A Number = A Thousand Words?

Climate change is certainly a global issue, and perhaps no organization has been as successful at reinforcing that message as 350.org. The goal of 350.org is to raise awareness of the number 350, the safe limit of carbon dioxide in the world.

350 has developed a significant YouTube presence, and almost all of their videos are targeted to appeal to an international audience. For example, this one, created by Free Range Studios, calls for a fair global climate treaty in Copenhagen and has been translated into Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, German and Burmese!

This animated video, which has garnered close to 100,000 views, also transcends linguistic and cultural barriers as it uses only pictures and numbers to tell the story:

350's videos are now inspiring others to create their own videos. This video features teenagers from across the United States calling for bolder climate change legislation. It's even 3:5o minutes long, for added effect.
