CO Senate Candidate: "Vote for Me Because I Don't Wear High Heels"

Ken Buck, a Republican candidate for the US Senate, appears in a video posted to YouTube today telling an audience, "Why should you vote for me? Because I do not wear high heels.

"She has questioned my manhood," he continues, referring to GOP primary challenger Jane Norton, "and I think it's fair to respond."

The Washington Post notes the video clip is edited to ninety seconds and was not posted by Buck's campaign.

Buck recently invited former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo to speak at a campaign event, where Tancredo called President Barack Obama "the greatest threat to the United States" and to the Constitution.

Tom Tancredo, a former Republican congressman from Colorado, speaking at a campaign rally for a US Senate candidate this week, called President Obama the greatest threat to the United States.

"I believe this with all my heart," he says in the clip starting at 14:08, "The greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers is the guy that is in the White House today."

The candidate, Ken Buck, tells The Hill he disagrees with the statement.

SC Gubernatorial Candidate Confesses to Ad Mistake

A South Carolina congressman running for governor has admitted one of his campaign commercials incorrectly states he is retired from the US Army. In this video, a YouTube user asks Gresham Barrett how he was able to retire after serving only four years in the military, between 1983-1987. Barrett says he did not have a chance to see the ad before it aired, and the error had been corrected. "I served in the military, but I did not retire," the Republican congressman said.

In the original TV ad, which began running in May, Barrett walks alongside a man dressed as an Army drill sergeant who instructs Barrett to tell people he's a Citadel man, a Christian family man and an Army artillery captain. An on-screen graphic says "Gresham Barrett, U.S. Army (Ret.)"
