Veterans for Peace - Civil Disobedience to End War

War veterans chained themselves to the front gates of the White House to display their disapproval of the President's support of war in Afghanistan. Whether you ultimately agree with their argument or not, their backgrounds and convictions deserve everyone's consideration:

A powerful video. The actual soldiers who fought the war tell us what they did was wrong, that Americans were brutal, that the war should not have been fought.

I lived with a Viet Nam vet and the guilt that follows you is hard enough to bear in silence. Bringing it out in the open is good not only on a personal level, to soften the edges of PTSD, but on a more universal level: telling the Truth about what war is and what you will have to do with that gun in your hands and how it might affect you afterward for the rest of your life. You and your family, your children...


Truth...utterly necessary no matter how hurtful. Ultimately the Truth will set us free.
